U.S. Toll in Iraq:
3,501 members of the U.S. military

As of Friday, at least 3,501 members of the U.S. military had died in Iraq since the beginning of the war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count. The latest identifications reported by the military:
- Army Pfc. Justin A. Verdeja, 20, La Puente (Los Angeles County)
- Army Sgt. Kimel L. Watt, 21, Brooklyn, N.Y.
- Army Staff Sgt. Timothy B. Cole Jr., 28, Missouri City, Texas
- Army Pfc. Shawn D. Gajdos, 25, Grand Rapids, Mich.
- Army Sgt. Matthew Soper, 25, Kalamazoo, Mich.
- Army Staff Sgt. Juan F. Campos, 27, McAllen, Texas
