NY State Attorney General Sues Mount Vernon Landlord:
Tenant Convicted of Drug Offenses

STACY ALBIN / NY Times 8apr02

MOUNT VERNON: SPITZER SUES LANDLORD

The state attorney general, Eliot L. Spitzer, said yesterday that he had sued a Westchester landlord, demanding that he evict a tenant convicted of drug offenses. In a civil lawsuit in state court, Mr. Spitzer asked that the landlord, Anthony Manganiello, evict his tenant, Sonia Bryan, who was convicted in 1997 of criminal possession of marijuana. In undercover operations since then, the police have confiscated large quantities of marijuana from Ms. Bryan's Mount Vernon apartment, Mr. Spitzer said. The lawsuit also demands that Mr. Manganiello evict other such tenants.
