Dow Chem Unit, Monsanto In Final Pact For Herbicide Sale

INDIANAPOLIS -- Dow Chemical Co.'s (DOW) Agrosciences LLC unit entered a final agreement to sell formulated cloransulam-methyl herbicide to Monsanto Co. (MON) for resale.

Financial terms weren't disclosed.

In a press release Tuesday, Dow Chemical said Monsanto will sell the herbicide, designed to control broadleaf weeds in soybeans, under the brand name Amplify in 2001, pending regulatory approval.

Dow Agrosciences sells an herbicide with the same active ingredient under the FirstRate name.
