Aventis is spinning off its ag biotech division, which produces StarLink.  The company recently announced it will divest itself from Aventis Cropscience through a possible stock sale.  Aventis reports it will focus on just pharmaceuticals.

Aventis Cropscience was created just a year ago with the merger of Rhone Poulenc Agro and AgrEvo.  The new company will be called Agreva.  Major products going with the company include StarLink and LibertyLink as well as crop protection products such as Liberty, Balance and Regent.
