mindfully.org note:
We could find but one example of a kid-safe biotech description. There must be other people in webland who have the expertise to write a truthful description of biotech for children. These young minds must be given the opportunity to read the truth, rather than the industry version.
Are you that person? If you're the parent of a college student, don't think you're in the clear.
Industry pretty much owns the universities at this point in time. Professors or researchers who speak the truth find the door being shown to them.
They also have difficulty finding their next source of funding. In 1998, Novartis bought UC Berkeley's Department of Plant and Microbial Biology. Read about it in US News and World Report 26oct98.
