Bio-technology India 2000 to showcase breakthrough

NEW DELHI: The advances made in the field of bio-technology and related sciences and their applications in real life would be showcased during the three-day international exhibition-cum-conference starting here on November 29, a release said.

The 2nd Bio-technology India, 2000 seeks to bring major industries like healthcare and bio-pharmaceuticals, agriculture and food sector under one umbrella with a view to promote India as the bio-technology investment destination.

The exhibition aims to foster the commercialisation of newer technologies by creating strategic alliances between investors and the global biotech community.

It would bring together bio-industry executives, venture capitalists and research scientists to discuss how this industry could forge ahead and increase the market for biotech products, it said.

Sessions of the meet would focus on human genetics and genome analysis, vaccine research and immunology, application of information technology in bio-technology, drug discovery research and technologies, bio-process, diagnostic technologies, plant genomes, transgenic crops and food security, crop protection and induced resistance to plant disease.(PTI)
